Molinare announces the appointments of Sven Taits and Tom Corbett as Re-Recording Mixers. Taits and Corbett will both be joining the company’s award-winning scripted audio department, bringing an additional combined 48 years’ experience to the team. The two new appointments further strengthen Molinare’s audio offering to drama and film productions, having worked previously with industry heavyweights Netflix, BBC, Amazon and Apple TV.

With over 30 years of re-recording mixer experience, Taits joins Molinare following a four-year stint at Lipsync Post, with recent credits including Fisherman’s Friends: One and All, Save the Cinema, and The Loneliest Boy in the World. Starting his career in music, Taits worked his way up from Tape Operator to Engineer, before working for legendary producer Tony Visconti, eventually becoming Bryan Ferry’s Sound Engineer for several years. Since attending film school and moving into audio for the screen, Taits has delivered exceptional sound mixing on a wide range of blockbuster films, focusing heavily on the action, comedy, and drama genres.

Spending his careers as both a freelance and in-house Mixer, Taits’ notable credits include Bird Box, Layer Cake, and Fantastic Mr Fox. His work on The Constant Gardener earned him his first BAFTA nomination for Best Sound in 2006, and he has also received nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing at the Golden Reel Awards and Best Sound Design in a Feature Film at the New Zealand Film and TV Awards. Aside from his extensive work in film, Taits has worked across a series of television productions across drama and comedy, including Channel 4’s Coalition and MTV’s Sleeping with the Family.

Corbett joins Molinare from Formosa, following a 12-year run at The Farm as Senior Re-Recording Mixer, before the company became part of the Streamland Media Group. Over this time, Corbett racked up an enviable roster of credits across scripted television, collaborating on the likes of This Time With Alan Partridge, Avoidance, The Dectorists, and All Creatures Great and Small.

In 2021, his exceptional talent was recognised by the Royal Television Society UK, for his work on Worzel Gummidge, seeing him win the RTS Craft and Design Award in the Sound – Drama category.

The two appointments demonstrate Molinare’s continued dedication in delivering the very best post-production services across scripted TV and film. Joining the already Oscar and BAFTA winning team, Taits and Corbett will complement the existing audio department, offering the industry gold standard sound mixing.
